Graffiti Canvas 2025

Pretend Friend

Sam Austins Medium Sized Backyard performance instantly inspired this one for me. I simply set up for launch and shortly thereafter I became the conduit; synthesized this sketch within a matter of moments whilst our energy frequencies harmonized briefly. I knew quite instantly where this one was headed.

1.) Transposed the sketch onto a white 20″ x 16″ canvas. Masking taped off the graff part.

Started by laying down a black background with some acrylic. Then bushed up some spacey nebulistic gasses and matter.

Once the paint dried, I masked off the background, and got to work on laying down the orange-yellow fade with the airbrush.

Spritzed some white to retain continuity with the background.

2.) Coming in with the black fine-point paint marker to get some outline going.

3.) Now to bring this motherfucker to life.

Once we finished the out line, we re-masked some areas and airbrushed some drop-shadows to start to give some depth

4.) Kept the main shadow black, and added some white edge highlights to the piece to encourage more depth.

Went with the bright green border for some nice contrast and separation. Masked off a little so I could do some more drop-shadow from the green border – and the piece itself.

And there you go ✌.
